SUMMARY:\"Right-Sizing Versus Over-Sizing: Efficiency in the Data Cent
 er\"
DESCRIPTION:\"RIGHT-SIZING VERSUS OVER-SIZING: EFFICIENCY IN THE DATA
 CENTER\"\n\n\n“BREAKFAST AND LEARN” INFORMATION:\nDATE: WEDNESDAY,
  AUGUST 18TH\nTIME: 8:00-11:00\nLOCATION: APC DEMO DATA CENTER\n6380 W
  54TH AVENUE\nARVADA, CO 80002\n\n\n\n\nPRESENTATION OVERVIEW:\n\n\nFo
recasting and measuring the total cost of ownership (TCO) for Data Cen
ter Physical Infrastructure (DCPI) is essential for return-on-investme
nt (ROI) analysis. Oversizing is the main contributor to excess TCO. O
versizing creates inefficiencies in the data center including excess c
apital cost, operating cost, and specifically energy cost. The average
data center operator can achieve the highest return investment in rel
ation to DCPI through rightsizing. Right-sizing the DCPI system to the
load is the key to optimizing TCO and has the most impact on DCPI ele
ctrical consumption. Right-sizing can potentially eliminate up to 50%
of the electrical bill in real-world scenarios. For example, potential
electricity cost savings for a typical 1 MW data center has been show
n to be $2,000,000 to $4,000,000 over a typical 10-year life of the fa
cility. Data center efficiency is key to controlling your energy costs
and should be a topic of significant importance to all data center op
erators. Join us for breakfast and an educational presentation that ex
amines right-sizing versus over-sizing.\n\n\nPRESENTATION TOPIC HIGHLI
GHTS:\n\n\n-TCO cost drivers and opportunities to control TCO.\n-Infor
mation and statistics related to over-sizing.\n-Practical advantages o
 f right-sizing.\n-Energy consumption reduction in DCPI equipment.\n-Ex
amine key reasons why the industry is moving toward modular, scalable
DCPI solutions.\n\n\nAttendees are invited to stay after the education
al presentation to walk through a demonstration data center and experi
ence InfraStruXure architecture from APC by Schneider Electric. All at
tendees are eligible for a free Critical Facility Energy Profile (CFEP
) conducted at their own facility. For additional details on the CFEP
offer and to RSVP for this event please contact Ryan Mordhorst at r.mo
rdhorst@apcdistributors.com or 720-975-4253.\n\n\nABOUT THE GUEST SPEA
KER:\n\n\nDon Melchert has been working with critical facilities since
1992. He has lead the efficient build out of new data centers such as
Sisters of Mercy hospitals and has managed critical facilities to inc
lude ConAgra Foods, Coca-Cola Enterprises and the Department of Educat
ion. For Schneider Electric, Don is now the primary instructor for Dat
a Center University, bringing with him the knowledge and experience ga
ined from assisting customers throughout North America become more sel
 f sufficient and energy conscious.\n\n\nABOUT THE SPONSORS:\n\n\nUnive
rsal Networking Services, LLC (UNS, LLC) specializes in mission-critic
al power and cooling solutions for wiring closets, server rooms and da
ta centers.\nUNS, LLC provides product acquisition, design/engineering
, installation management and maintenance services. APC is considered
a global leader in data center physical infrastructure (DCPI) solution
