when you are relaxing after the 2010 feastive meals and drinks perhaps you may muse on the following:

cable musing - with 10GBaseT now the upper limit for copper twisted pair cable why install higher performance cable than Cat6 (for permanent links <37m ) and Ca6A ( for permanent links >37m & <90m )  ?

energy musing - with the GreenTouch global research initiative leading the charge to dramatically improved energy efficiency in ICT networks by a factor of 1,000 by 2015 (not unrealistic considering a 10,000 factor reduction is possible) what will future data centres look like when todays average rack loads of 3,000 to 5,000 Watts reduce to 3 to 5Watts in less than ten years time ?

value engineering musing - engineering perfection is reached not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away  ?
