Sometimes, we do not care about backing up the data until 'disaster' such as power interruption, server malfunction or unidentified stuff come. We always think that disaster will happen only at our neighbours.

Backup in monthly basis is good enough for me, what about you?

Please share at here, what's your strategy for data backup plan.

Hi Karfi,

For me the backup policy depends on what is being backed up.  So it's heavily dependent on the requirements of those who own the data, the overall business requirements, and how critical the data is.

Maybe for you monthly is good enough, but in many environments they will have different requirements which leads to data being backed up:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Ad-Hoc

One thing for sure is that is likely to be very painful if you get your backup policy wrong.

Well I am a DR site that has a lot of dark fiber not being utilized and 4 Baseloads that terminate right here...and I am looking for data, or a company that is looking for a site to build a facility...I have 1,200 acres available for anyone looking for a home...oh did I mention that I don't have any tax or surcharges on my power either....
