Impact of Greentouch mission - network energy efficiency by a factor of 1000 from current levels

If greentouch www.greentouch.org achieve their mission then I wonder what the implications will be to data centre design?

Greentouch Global Mission - By 2015, our goal is to deliver the architecture, specifications and roadmap — and demonstrate key components — needed to increase network energy efficiency by a factor of 1000 from current levels.

With a 10,000 factor possible the mission above looks very likely to me

If only the data centre industry had improved this much in the past ten years ...... if it had , then how would a data centre today compare to 2003?

The first human genome was sequenced in 2003 following 13 years of work at a cost of £2 billion. Now it takes around two days and costs just £1,000.
