Rackwise Demonstrates Remote Real Time Monitoring and Remote Management

Rackwise Demonstrates Remote Real Time Monitoring and Remote Management

Sydney, Australia – June 16th, 2010 Rackwise, the internationally recognized leader in Data Center Management and Intelligence solutions is proud to announce the ability to point, click, and connect remote management access to device consoles. Along with these capabilities real time power, environmental data acquisition, and monitoring will be demonstrated at Datacenter Dynamics Sydney, Australia.

RACKWISE DCM’s agnostic multivendor interoperability will be demonstrated with simultaneous data collection of real time power and environmental information remotely utilizing Server Technology’s intelligent PDUs and Packet Power intelligent power monitoring equipment.

The Server Technology/Rackwise integration combines reliable power distribution, power monitoring, power control, and environmental monitoring with an enterprise class software solution that visualizes the entire data center. The instantaneous information provided by Packet Power makes it easy to monitor and analyze power usage and temperature in multiple facilities with a wireless "plug and play" design that works with any vendor's equipment, and costs far less than other monitoring solutions.

"Rackwise DCM provides the insight companies need to improve their data center operations and increase efficiency," notes Steve VanTassel, CEO of Packet Power. "That insight is built on accurate power and temperature data, and Packet Power is delighted to team with Rackwise to offer the simplest, most flexible and most affordable means of capturing that data."

Rackwise will also showcase RACKWISE DCM’s ability to seamlessly point, click, and remotely connect through KVMs to server and other device management consoles. The Minicom KVM featured in the demonstration is a multiuser IP KVM switch that gives IT administrators remote, outofband, access to their servers from anywhere in the world using a web interface. If a problem server needs to rebooted, this can be easily accomplished via the Server Technology PDU with a single mouse click without leaving the Minicom KVM console.

"Real time access and control of servers and devices in the data center are critical functions for today's data center. Combining our remote access solutions with Rackwise's industry leading Data Center Management software creates a powerful opportunity for data center IT and Facility administrators to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs," said Rami Sasson, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at Minicom.

All equipment used for these demonstrations is located in Rackwise’s Product Demonstration Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. "Collecting data from and performing remote management with devices half a world away dramatically demonstrates RACKWISE DCM’s ability to manage globally dispersed enterprise data centers." said William Nelson, Director of Product Management
