- Herb Villa, is the Customer Solutions Engineer with Telx, New York, NY. With a background in mechanical engineering, Herb has more than 20 years of experience in the IT market, having been involved in all aspects of data center and system design, installation and operations. Herb has also benefited from three unique vantage points – data center operator, manufacturer, systems integrator. This experience has been used to provide training to end users and engineers & consultants in a variety of forums including conferences, on-site and on-line. Herb has put this knowledge to work for a variety of clients including Fortune 500, financial services, education, government and content and entertainment organizations.
Industry experience includes: Data center infrastructure design and installation, including power, cooling, cable & cable management, Co-location space design and construction and End user and internal personnel product and applications training. Herb has also authored several whitepapers and published articles in a variety of trade journals on IT related topics including data center design, high density cooling solutions, modular power distribution and related topics. Also presented at Data Center Dynamics, AFCOM, BICSI, Supercomputing, Gartner Conferences, Blade Server Summit, as well as regional and international events on a range of IT and data center topics including – Data Center Design Principles, Facility Cooling Solutions, Power Distribution, Facility Management and Cloud Computing and Co-location Solutions.
