It started with High-end IT driven corporate, then financial sector adopted the SDDC technology and soon Telecom sector followed the suit. Gradually, the demand for SDDC (software-defined data center) is growing with the increasing rate of its incorporation by enterprises.

Government of India is playing a crucial role in huge expansion of IT sector and data centers scenario in the nation. Revolutionary IT programs like Digital India, concept of smart cities, development of SEZs (Special Economic Zones) and IT parks etc. have acted as growth platforms for advanced data centers and cloud hosting providers in India.

India’s strength lies in its massive population with major portion of it comprising of youths. Due to this, there is increase in the numbers of internet users as well as internet usage. Moreover, there is an exponential growth in the popularity of ecommerce industry in India along with the emergence of e-governance, internet banking and e-learning etc. Altogether, it indicates a lateral shift towards digitalization in the country.

Above all, with growing prevalence of broadband, 3G, and now even 4G connectivity is here, the data centers in India are expected to see a big surge in demand for cloud storage, virtual servers, bare-metal clouds and data center services. Proliferation of data and increasing mobility is going to create immense impact and pressure on the storage, server, networking infrastructure and IT operations. Moreover, it will also lead to rise in the security risks.

These factors indicate that the future will see a huge rise in demand for innovative data center solutions. The challenges can only be relieved through data center planning, modernization and automation. So it would be better if the data center service providers in India start deploying the SDDC technologies in their existing architecture to encounter any of the challenges of future.
